However, it does have a tendency to bury some important info under several sub-menus. A disappointing waste of potential.īack in-game (or on app), as a menu system, this version of Pip-Boy - specifically the Pip-Boy 3000 Mk IV - is probably the smoothest the series has seen, with categories more clearly defined and easily navigable. The clasp that holds the device on your wrist often comes loose. The dial on the top right, meant to switch between menu screens, felt as if it was balanced on a loose spring, like a bobble-head (collectible bobble-heads are a thing in Fallout 4 but we doubt wobbly dials are meant to homage them).

Taking it out of the box, the first button we pressed immediately wedged itself in the casing. Leaving aside the fact that larger phones won't fit - Bethesda was, to its credit, up front about that, and trying to accomodate every possible handset on the market would be nigh impossible - the physical Pip-Boy is flimsy.
